DIVING BY LIVEABOARD IN INDONESIA

Indonesia diving highlights:

Indonesia has it all, from sharks and whales to the ellusive Mola Mola (or 'sunfish'). There are also plenty of smaller creatures including nudibranches, pygmy seahorses and porcelain crabs. For wreck fanatics there's plenty World War 2 wrecks lying at reachable depths and for the deeper sites, Tec Divers are also spoiled. Throw in vertical walls, coral filled pinacles and deep trenches with pulsing currents, and your sure of a unforgetable liveaboard adventure in Indonesia.

Being spread evenly over the equator, Indonesia has a tropical climate, with coastal temperatures averaging between 26C and 28C. Variations in temperature are relatively small and due to this most areas remain steadily warm and humid all year round.

Rainfall is the main changing variable in Indonesia. The country's humidity varies minimally, staying between 70 and 90%. Winds are average and usually predictable, with monsoons coming from the south and east from June to September and from the northwest from December to March. Typhoons and storms are not generally a problem in Indonesia.

Visibility

Depending on the time of year and where you're diving, visibilty can range from anything bewteen a few meters (rainy/monsoon season) to 50m+! Currents can of course affect visibility and Indoesnia can have either very calm, still water and also some ripping currents! (Best for drift diving and experienced divers).

Indo Aggressor

The INDO AGGRESSOR™ offers various Komodo diving itineraries to 4 different areas. The most well known, Komodo National Park Indonesia was established in 1980 and was declared a World Heritage Site and a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1986. The park was initially established to conserve the unique Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis). Since then conservation goals have expanded to protecting its entire biodiversity, both marine and terrestrial. The Komodo National Park encompasses 1,817 square kilometers of spectacular land and marine wilderness, including the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Padar, and Gili Montagne and their surrounding waters. The signature land attraction on your INDO AGGRESSOR™ LiveAboard scuba diving trip in Komodo will be an encounter with the world’s largest lizard - the flesh eating Komodo Dragon.

The INDO AGGRESSOR™ is a traditional Phinisi boat that travels as a motorized yacht and has sails. The sails are still maintained for Komodo diving and other activities but only if offshore and weather permitting due to all the travel close to the islands.

The INDO AGGRESSOR™ offers itineraries to 4 different areas:

The 7, 10 and 11 night liveaboard Komodo cruises feature enhanced vacation itineraries that allows guests more time diving and more time in the signature areas. Following are the different itineraries offered on the INDO AGGRESSOR™:

     - Komodo Deep South (7 nights)
     - Bali, Tulamben, East Sumbawa & Komodo National Park (11 nights)
     - Komodo National Park (10 nights)
-Forgotten Islands (10 nights) View Itinerary

Many of our guests are avid photographers who like nothing more than hunting out weird and wonderful critters on the reef and sand. As part of the expanded Komodo diving itinerary we have added two locations to the west of the Komodo National Park on our liveaboard – Sangeang Indonesia, an island volcano to the north of East Sumbawa and Bima Bay Indonesia, an inlet that meanders down to Bima town on Sumbawa. There are two specific sites in both of these areas that are producing a dazzling array of rare creepy crawlies on a regular basis – “Estuary” on Sangeang and “Fuzzy Bottom” at the entrance to Bima Bay.

Please Note: The Indo Aggressor requires that every diver carry a Surface Marker Buoy or SMB, also known as a safety sausage, signal tube, or surface marker on every dive to comply with dive safety standards. An SMB is an important safety accessary for every diver regardless of where you are scuba diving.

Pindito

With over 25 years experience, the MV Pindito is the pioneer of liveaboard diving in Indonesia. Lovingly built to the highest standard, by owner Edi Frommenwiler, and meticulously maintained, Pindito continues to set the standard with her thoughtfully laid out floor plan and smooth sailing. In continuous operation since 1992 the MV Pindito's crew is unmatched for it's diving knowledge and experience in Indonesia. The MV Pindito launched operation in the Banda Sea and quickly expanded her routes to include Raja Ampat, Komodo, Ambon, Alor and many places in between.

Once onboard, the Lounge is the place where our guests meet for meals, to share photos and videos between dives, and to socialize. A satellite phone and Email access is 24h available (an extra fee is charged on board).

Also you can enjoy a variety of music and new video releases here, and feel free to plug in your laptop, camcorder or dSLR to view your images on our big screen TV. The Pindito also offers an extensive library to learn about the reefs and fishes you've seen on dives in our Marine Life Library, or curl up with a book between dives. Novels are available on a "take one/leave one" basis.

Alternatively, you can relax in the luxury of your teakwood paneled cabins. Each 10' x 10' cabin is named after a mystical Indonesian island and, depending on your reservation, is appointed either with a twin bed plus an upper bunk, or with a spacious double bed... it's your choice. All cabins feature newly renovated (June 2017) ensuite with hot and cold running water (vanity and shower as well as toilet), individually controlled air conditioning and five 220v AC electrical outlets (German 2-pole plugs), available 24 hours a day.

Our crew is devoted to your comfort and will attend to your cabin daily, keeping it clean and tidy and providing fresh towels as necessary. Additional towels are available for you on deck as needed.

Pindito offers six double cabins and two twin cabins, creating very comfortable accommodations for up to 16 guests.

Photographers and videographers will love the convenience and functionality of the Pindito's camera room, located aft of the Lounge on the Main Deck.

The owners built the Camera Room with the needs of modern digital underwater photographers and videographers in mind. Here you will find plenty of storage space, professional-grade work areas, and both 220v and 110v AC charging stations at your disposal. There's also overflow space for photographers on the spacious tables in the salon (please clear for meals) and on the lounge deck when more space is needed for image-makers.
