The Maldives is a flat group of low lying atolls with sweeping white sandy beaches, pristine coral reefs a rich abundance of biodiversity. Lot's of liveboard diving in the madlives is largly drift diving, conducted at a leisurely pace as the Monsoon Current gently flows through the island chain.

Divesites

Vaavu Atoll

This highly-rated dive site hosts abundant coral and fish, but also includes caves, overhangs and swim-throughs filled with yellow soft coral and a few black coral bushes at deeper depths. You may see reef sharks, jack and tuna, plus large schools of snapper. The Thila in the middle of the channel entrance is a good place to do the safety stop.

Lhaviyani Atoll

This site gets its name from the strong current that flows through the channel. Cruise along one of the terraces located at different depths and watch the reef sharks, eagle rays, tuna, stingrays and barracuda go by. Mantas also frequently venture into the scene.

Tropical, hot and humid with loads of sunshine and temperatures around 24-33°C/75-91°F year-round. The diving is good all year long, but the monsoon brings significant rain between April and October, especially June to August.


Visibility

Ranges from 20 metres/70 feet to really, really good. If the visibility lowers, it usually means plankton is present, which can bring in the whale sharks.

Amba Liveaboard

The German owned Amba is a beautiful liveaboard boot and the only liveaboard sailing around Haa Alifu & Haa Dhaalu Atolls in the north. Amba can accommodate 20 dviers in 10 spacious cabins, each with en-suite bathroom, hot water showers and individually controlled air conditioning. There are 9 standard staterooms with twin or double beds; one is also fitted with bunk beds. 2 standard staterooms are located on the upper deck of the liveaboard, and have full sized windows to enjoy the scenery outside. The remaining 7 standard staterooms are found on the boat's lower deck and have simple portholes.  Also, on Amba's upper deck, is the 10th 'luxury' stateroom. This huge 25 sqm cabin has spectacular panoramic views and also includes it's very own private sundeck.

Amba offers 2-3 dives per day incl. 1 night dive a week. On arrival / departure day (Sunday) there is no diving. Decompression dives are forbidden. It is necessary to have your own dive computer and SMB (surface marker buoy). Amba has no rental-equipment on board, so it's important to bring your own or organise equipment elsewhere.

Every diver onboard the Amba liveaboard has to have min. 30-50 open water dives. Weights, cylinder (& refills) and diveguide are included in the price. Diving in the Maldives is limited to a diving depth of 100 feet (30m). A diving insurance is required. For insurance reasons Amba imposes a max. depth limit of 18 meter for PADI OWD (or equivalent). This may mean the exclusion of various dives.
 Course onboard the Amba liveaboard include Advanced Open Water Diver and Nitrox courses according to PADI standards. Similarly, a private dive guide (instructor /-in) can be booked.

Maldives Aggressor II

The Maldives Aggressor II is built and powered for comfort, safety and stability. She is diesel powered and cruises at 12 knots, has a beautiful spacious salon, sundeck, chaise lounges, deck chairs, bar, grill, and a complete photo/video center. She accommodates 22 passengers in 11 staterooms; 8 staterooms with a single beds , 2 staterooms with Queen size beds and 1 stateroom with a king size bed. Lower deck staterooms have portholes in the cabin and bathrooms. Upper deck staterooms have picture windows and portholes in bathrooms. Suite stateroom is located on the main deck with panoramic windows. All staterooms have en suite bathrooms with shower, closet, porthole, hairdryers and individual AC climate control. The yacht has 110 volt and 220 volt at the camera charging and computer stations. For use of 110 in other areas, we suggest guests bring USA 110 to 220 twin pin socket adaptors. The yacht has a safe in each state room to keep valuables such as passports, cash, credit cards or anything else you would like to store. The yacht is not responsible any lost, damaged or stolen items. We highly recommend extremely caution and care be taken if you plan to travel onboard with electronic equipment. This equipment should always be stowed after use to avoid the risk of damage.


Your chef prepares breakfast, lunch and an elegant meal at dinner with table side service in addition to fresh mid-morning and afternoon snacks. Beverages included are: fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water,tea, coffee, and local beer and wine. Fresh towels are placed in each stateroom as needed. Tanks, air tanks, weights and weight belts are included. Island transfers from the airport to and from the Maldives Aggressor II are included in your charter if it starts to/from on the charter start/departure date.


There are three thrilling areas to choose from for your liveaboard scuba diving trip on the beautiful Maldives Aggressor II. The 'Best of the Maldives' offers 7 and 10-nights with 4 different itineraries that includes the areas of:  North Male, South Male, North Ari, South Ari, Vaavu and Rasdhoo which includes spectacular channel-drift dives, wrecks, pinnacles and world famous night dives. Guests will embark and dismark from Male.  This is a year round itinerary with each of the dive areas offering exciting diving. Guests may dive up to 18 dives during the week on the 7-night itinerary and  up to 27 dives on a 10-night itinerary.

Starting in 2018, the 'Deep South' area will offer 7-night charters and as well in 2019.

The third area, Southern Hemisphere, offers 7 and 10-night charters with 3 different itineraries to choose from. The itinerary for this Maldives liveaboard scuba diving trip will include South Male, Vaavu, Meemu, Laamu, Thaa, Huvadhoo, Foammulah and Addu. This itinerary will include mostly channel dives and offers exciting marine life such as pelagics, reef sharks, whale sharks, oceanic mantas and occasionally tiger sharks and hammerhead sharks.  Guests will either board the boat in Male and end in Addu or board in Addu and end in Male. On both outbound and inbound routes a one way domestic flight will be required at GAN International Airport located in Addu Atoll (GAN).

Conte Max

When Conte Max was launched, back in 2004, the Maldives did not offer many boats of such comfort and standards as to represent an alternative to the islands resorts also for those who did not engage in diving activities.

With the launch of Conte Max, the concept of a cruise combining the rejuvenating well being of the Maldivian sea and scenery with the well being of an onboard Ayurveda center was born and in terms of Maldives cruises a totally new trend was set. The indoor saloon has a bar offering a wide choice of soft drinks and spirits, a TV-DVD-Stereo area furnished with comfortable sofas . All yacht furniture is made of valuable Maldivian wood. Recharging area for cameras 220v electricity.

The communal open-air spaces are on three decks furnished with sun loungers, sun mats and deck chairs. The decks allow guests to enjoy the breathtaking Maldivian scenery, both when sailing and while relaxing when the yacht is moored in the lagoons for the night.

Duke of York

The M/Y DUKE OF YORK was built and launched in the Maldives in 2010. Thanks to high design standards, combining the skills of local naval architects and engineers and quality standards, this yacht is the ideal solution for a fantastic sea adventure in the Maldives that is also a holiday dedicated to wellness and relaxation in a comfortable environment.

The 36-meters long and 11-meters wide Duke of York boasts 4 levels with indoor parquet flooring and teak on the main deck, is accompanied by a comfortable Dhoni used for diving, snorkeling, fishing, marine activities and to land on sand banks/desert islands. Along with the more traditional diving techniques we are able to offer cruises  with the assistance and material to dive with Rebreathers.
Onboard NITROX is free of charge.

The very spacious outdoor dining area (aft of first deck) is furnished with tables and chairs made of quality wood and can easily accommodate 24 guests. The area is wholly shaded and can be covered to allow outdoor dining even in case of rain. Meals are served as buffets and  menu include dishes from the International, Italian and Maldivian cuisine, mainly prepared with fresh fish, although our chefs are always ready to satisfy any of our guests specific needs.

The large air-conditioned indoor saloon of the Duke of York has a bar offering a wide choice of soft drinks and spirits and 2 comfortable sofas, which become a meeting and relaxing place for those wishing to listen to music, watch a movie or read a book. Occasionally, for special evenings, thanks to its Dolby Surround TV-Stereo system the saloon even turns into a dance floor. Recharging area for cameras -220v electricity.
